  1. If these are the same as the 2012's that they offered on his website, at least for Ram this applies Limited, slightly added compression Unlimited, no additional compression, both use the 2012 remaster
  2. These offerings have more compression than the remasters... There is a bad digital glitch @ 3:00 on Train of Gold I'm still debating on the sq compared to my old US cd and lp discography
  3. I'm using the DC-1 as a DAC/Pre combo, the price and feature set was the seller for me, Turntable-analog in, SBTouch- USB, Amp-Balanced out, Sub-analog out, for sacd/dvd-a an oppo with a hdmi-embedder coax in, no DSD was not an issue for me, I convert DSF. to PCM via software, there are some nice DAC's in that list, you could always audition a few and see which sounds good to you, good luck, it's tough, the market is flooded with nice products so to say what's the best is going to be a tough one
  4. I believe a couple Hoffman members are with good results, using Korg products I believe, Me, I'm happy with plain old 24/96
  5. Would a Focusrite work? I have a 2i2 I use for needledrops ,it's an analog to digital converter, nice unit sounds great, Also the happy owner of the Stealth DC-1
  6. Same here also, comparing to the old US Elektra cd, I won't try with Door To Door, happy with the DMM lp
  7. lol, if they are going to kill it, do it right
  8. I agree, shame, I'll just do a needledrop of the lp, probably the best bet, here's the 24/44 of Blue Eyed-
  9. Same DR as the 24/44 I'm afraid, it's odd, the lossless download I got when I ordered EP2 vinyl showes "Blue Eyed Hexe" at 0, the 24/44 is leveled at just over -2, looks like they level shifted it to make it look "quieter"
  10. The 25th is indeed very nice, my drops are done with a focusrite 2i2, does the job quite nicely, so far with new releases on lp my DR has matched those who have posted them, now when the DR posts are of lp's from the 70's and 80's that's when I see some differences comparing mine with the database Edit: But it seems most of the time no info is given on where it was pressed, if it was a re-press etc, too many variables to say the DR is exact for lp's, my opinion
  11. Couple of my favorite artists CJF! A couple more-The project with Gilmore/The Orb- Metallic Spheres, and here's an odd one Mentallo & The Fixer-Love Is The Law, I have no clue how they pulled this off in two channel, wow, It's a bizarre cd, but the effects are quite neat
  12. Oppo analog out->Focusrite 2i2 @24/88 ->PC, cut n tag, I'm recording what I'm hearing, my SB Touch has made me very lazy, works great for me doing it this way
  13. I agree, many factors come into play, I wouldn't take the DR numbers to heart, they can be close to accurate and is a good reference tool, I just ripped my Lightning Bolt lp and it came out a 10, the database submission had an 11
  14. Hi Howard, I'm pretty much an old novice with this stuff, but it looks like memory issues, how much does your pc have? You could try foobar, tons of plugins available, free and uses low resources, I'm sure an expert could give you more info
  15. Thanks for the impressions Larry, I use a Squeezebox Touch, Iv'e found Level 1 flac compression dbpoweramp ideal for my setup, as I found wav sounded sterile, it may have to do with how the Touch transcodes the file
