  1. I compared the 192/24 to my MFSL UHQR of COTC. The digital download is quieter but the UHQR had much better top end to my ears. Many of the cymbals and high hat sounds are lost in the digital re-master that I am used to hearing on the UHQR. The dynamic range is very good on the digital and has less distortion on the extreme loud passages compared to the UHQR. I would also comment that the Bass is much fuller and detailed on the digital as well. I think the re-master changed the mix slightly and many of the sounds I am used to hearing is now in the background. The digital re-master is nice to listen to but I do miss the top end on the high and cymbals that is now buried in the mix.

    Fidelia 1.5

I just downloaded version 1.5.2 late last night on a trial basis and after a few tweaks I have now found my new reference player. The sound quality is organic like playing good vinyl. Most of my files are at least CD quality or better with a few 24/192 albums including Miles Davis Kind of Blue. I am having the gapless issue as well as I tried listening to Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon and it cut out on the transitions between songs for a split second. I still have Audirvana to use for playing albums like DSOM but I really like the sound I am hearing with Fidelia. Hopefully he gapless issue will be solved soon.
  3. Integer mode works with the USB DAC input of my McIntosh C2500. How ever I am having problems intermittently with the software or hardware switching sample rates.
  4. If you like Jazz Standards this recording is the best I have heard in quite awhile. I do not know where it was recorded but the musicianship and vocals are first rate. Excellent audio production and engineering with wide dynamic range.
  5. I downloaded the new Joe Walsh Album Analog Man that was available at 48/24. The files are actually 96/24. I am not sure if HD Tracks got it wrong on their listing or maybe they made a last minute change on file quality. The album sounds pretty good but it is too compressed in my opinion. It is like all of the tracks are normalized to the max.
  6. I just leave the settings at 96/24 for my Music Streamer II. The sound is good with all sample rates. The 96/24 files will sound the best.
  7. I analyzed the files and the maximum was 47%. I made copies of the files to DBPowerAmp and used the Normalize DSP to increase them by +6. This brought them to a maximum level of 94% at the peaks. This procedure did not create any noticeable distortion.
