I am loving it all the way. I am the one that "borrowed" my unit to Mr. Christiaan Punter who did review of it (I was on holidays, of course). As for burning in time, it does sounds livelier, and I would add, it is also getting used to the sound as well.
I am professional audio engineer and can not consider myself (yet) audiophile, I am accepting what comes out of it and still enjoying every note that rings out. I just love the possibility to rediscover some recordings and hear that extra sound that didn't occur before Mytek. Also for my professional work I am listening my Pro Tools HD rig (192 AES out) thru Mytek and since connecting BNC Sync cables last week, sound got much tighter and wider, bass response is fantastic...still need to listen more to get the mid & highs right, but again, this might be just higher response to the sound I was already used to listen. All in all-I am in love.
There is one thing I still don't get right: I am using Audirvana for playback, and if I try to play DSD files (extracted from some SACD ISO's with scaltebook) nothing happen. If I use Firewire driver everything is fine. Even yesterday downloaded new USB drivers and installed it on my new Mac Mini that I am organizing as a media player, and still didn't get playback on USB.
Anybody had similar experience? Mytek has 1.3.2 firmware.
cheers to all Audiphiles
