so I reinstalled and it works

Put simply...any suggestions what to do if I don't see sonic stream listed as an input ?

A couple of times it seems to work but mostly when I click on Amarra sq it doesn't work (no sound shown in the eq box). It says "input and output must match", " " set input to sonic scream ", "sonic stream not found , reboot" ....but....when I go to inputs (after rebooting) I see nothing listed for sonic stream and sometimes the only thing listed is AirPlay....not sure why ,,but I have used apple tv to play stuff on my tv but not on my Mac mini ; sometime I see my dac listed in the output box, sometimes not. Also, in the audio midi setup box i do not see sonic stream listed as an input...but there I always see my dac listed as an output . Any suggestions ?

What is the maximum sound quality coming from you tube (recognizing that it can't be any better than the underlying video itself). That's my basic question

- does Amarra pass through the quality level (sorry, don't know the lingo; should I say" resolution " or what ) of the streaming signal whatever it is - what is "it": what is emanating from netflix, you tube , some radio station I am listening to in iTunes ....it is compressed , or similar to cd...or high res I suppose I should be clear in this ,,,but I'm not.... - also, does SQ automatically process any audio signal on my mac ( I say that only because you don't need to select the sound source it seems)

Well, then, next time I can muster the mental energy I'll see if I can find something I think sounds as good, but has the functionality of a remote app. I kinda was sympathetic a while back that it's probably somewhat complex...but..come on..this has been years now..so it starts to seem kind of like an arrogant disregard for customers.

Have they made the eq such a prominent feature of SQ because streaming sources are so variable ...(more likely a cd would be correctly balanced ).Asking this as I watch a tv concert that seems rather heavy on the bass.

Thanks . What should be the equalizer settings if I am not "using " it; is there some neutral default setting. The default volume seems to come on as -20; when I move that to zero,should, there also be some adjustments made to the eq stuff? If volume is less than zero does it mean info / bits are lost ..?

Anyone know why the volume setting should not be zero (aren't you throwing out bits if volume is below zero....)?

I guess I've left it at default settings as well, unless I inadvertently adjusted them. My volume started at -20... I guess I don't see why it shouldn't just be zero

Could someone say what are the basic,default settings one should use with amarra SQ ? I see there is an equalizer but I don't use eq for anything , and don't want to have to worry about it ( ....I don't use eq for amarra itself, nor any other program I have ever played music with). What should the volume setting be set at ? Thanks

Finally got the amarra SQ license working , but wondering -- seems I have to close amarra to get amarra SQ to work -- seems I need to manually go in and change amarra SQ audio output to my Dac when I start it ; since the only output I use is the Dac I don't why both amarra and amarra SQ don't just remember that for settings when launched --
