1. To those who build the beaglebone . . . what can be said about the sound quality ? I am driving my DAC with a vortexbox (with the SOTM USB card) but looking for a second (more simplified) system. Feedback is welcome !
2. Hi Chris and fellow members, Did you hear about any new developments in the "Ravenna protocol" ? I found a short video (dated 2010) where Genelec shows an "audio over IP" speaker. Now they are waiting for so called AVB products to hit the market, although Merging already has one. Is there anymore you can tell us about it ? Kind regards, Jeroen
3. Here is a link to Ravenna partners. Genelec (speakers) had already in 2010 a demo in an audioshow. link: Genelec Active Speakers Offer Simple Audio Over IP Package (ISE 2010) ... e-ise-2010 And here is a link to an excited guy from Merging Technologies (2011) link: Personally . . . I am waiting for a "consumer line from Genelec with IP connection" Anyone else interested in this ?
4. although this topic is indeed old . . . A friend of mine uses a (long) st glasscable (AT&T) and that really works. It's designed for longer distances. The sound . . . detailed & refined.
5. Hi, Just wonder with which USB to AES/EBU converter you settled. I am using the Hiface Evo, in combination with the Wadia 27ix (gnsc). The AT&T glass cable really works for me. It still can be better, but I won't complain ;-). Did you think about the Wadia U upgrade ?
6. Found this one http://www.alloysoft.com/ But maybe you have other recommendations.
7. Who has experience with Remote Software ? I am using windows home version so Remote Desktop will not work at my macbook. The main player at the moment is Winamp 5.6. Best wishes, Jeroen
8. nowadays with a hiface evo and at&t wadia glass cable (great improvement) (paintings by my 4 year old son - Florian)
9. Hi Pascal, Did you find an alternative for the Oyen ? Or did you order one in the States ? I was thinking of this one http://oyendigital.com/firewire-800-usb-hard-drive.html Curious what your experiences are.

He also tells me that the slower 5400-rpm drives sound better than the faster 7200-rpm drives." Do more people have the experience the smaller (2,5 inch) drive is better ?
11. Hi Nicholas, you wrote: "So with the Mac, you pay 2-3 times as much for a technically similar product, but without Blu-Ray or HDMI and less disk space, fewer USB ports, etc. At least with Weiss, Berkeley, et al., there's a significant improvement in performance compared to products selling for one-third or half as much." What kind of products would you suggest ?
12. Thanks Ferenc and Matias for your quick reply, I will give it a try. Using a Wireworld digital cable right now, but just wondering what will happen with a "direct connection" Did anyone compare the HiFace to a RME or Lynx sound card already ?
13. Dear Ferenc, Which brand converter plugs do your friends use, or where did they buy them ? And is it RCA or BNC ?
14. The Wadia 12 is really not that good. I compared it to the Wadia 26. The Wadia 25 or 26 are way better (I had them both).
15. Hi Bill,

Which Wadia are/were you using ?
