  1. Thanks for the great software! Wish I could make the Aries mini a Roon end point but they have no interest. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  2. Reporting Auralic Aries Mini is working. Initially added the Bridge software before turning off Squeezebox support and lost the microRendu connection. Uninstalled Bridge software and started over, rebooting mR after every change. Worked perfectly. The Aries shows up under Squeezebox as a Squeezelite player with the mR IP address. I changed no other settings.
  3. As long as this topic is up, can anyone confirm that Roon still does not work in core mode with 2012r2? Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  4. Is the conclusion that the lps-1 provides the vast majority of the isolation that the many parts and connections otherwise provide? Good to know since I've been planning many of those parts and connections. FYI I too just put the Lps-1 between my Hdplex and mR and have been astounded by the improvement. PSAudio DS to CJ ART amps to amphion 7L. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  5. Need some help Phil. Funny thing happened in the upgrade process from b20 to b21. Based on some Google queries it looks like I lost environment variables. All fine in gui but in min server or core, dos commands seem to be lost. "Cmd", "explorer", etc produce an error. I'm using Fedelizer and Roon in WS2012. Until I installed AO 2.0 I was getting an error that RAAT server failed but that's gone now. Roon and everything else seems to work fine. I can also run RT and AO and net use but not cmd, explore. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks, Jim
  6. Wondering if anyone can comment on the i2s implementation in the SS described in this forum and that described by the folks at Musica Pristina in their A Capella player A Cappella - Musica Pristina.
  7. It's in a text file that downloads from the beta zip. ...had that problem once too!
  8. Appreciating the discussion here. I've just converted to dedicated PC with lots of trials on PC parts, power, software etc. Using fidelizer pro, AO, and Roon now. Alpha USB and DAC II to CJ ART's and Amphion 7L's. Shunyata/Nordost cabling and conditioning. While fidelizer, AO and PP's USB card are really significant improvements, I'm suprised by the improvements coming from linear power to my NAS, a strikingly clear difference, and sotm filters on fans and SSD. From the discussion here, I guess I need PP sata cables. Has anyone had similar results from LAN cables? Thanks, Jim
  9. Phil, Thanks again for all the help. I now have Roonsrver working fine on my WS2012R2 machine with AO 2.0 set as you direct. Using local drives mapped from NAS. Did not cooperate until I removed the MP3 and aif files - less than 20 of over 15,000+ files. Jim
  10. Ah! picture light bulb above my head finally turning on... Thanks I see that now.
  11. Phil, Trying to understand your comment at the end of the instructions above "What you get is a System which automatically logs in, starts RoonServer, actually plays music and does not need to convert your windows server into an essentials edition nor to install the Media Essentials Pack". In the beginning you said to add the role "essentials experience" and add the media pack. Does AO remove these?
  12. https://community.roonlabs.com/t/server-2012-r2-in-ao-core-mode-nas-issues/8100/27 Looks like you had no problem though?
  13. The tracks are on the NAS - synology ds 214 - but I mapped the NAS to local drives. Works perfectly on WEin10 machine with both Roon and MC21. The WS machine shows tracks are there and some album art but it looks like it doesn't stay around long enough - the software just goes out and I return to windows gui - to read all files. Roon does stay on as service and the iPad connection goes on and off as the iPad repeatedly tries to connect.
