  1. Hello Chris I think I may have solved this. I have had to remove the app from the iPad and reinstall it this has corrected the album artwork error. I have made sure that I have a .jpg folder in each album folder one for the front album named as front.jpg and if so one for the rear album cover named as back.jpg this has resolved the issue.
  2. Hello Chris Can anyone help please? I've recently got my hands on a new W20 but I am having problems with displaying the album cover art within the Aurender W20 APP. When I select an album the cover art is displayed in the contents window on the Aurender app, when I tap on the album artwork I am presented with a completely different album cover than the one shown, the album shown is of an album I have recently removed from the hard disc drive. The front cover is shown as a completely different album altogether but the rear album cover is displayed correctly using the same view? The album cover art shown in the top left of the screen within the album cover and details section is correct when playing that album. I can tap the album cover and the correct album cover is then displayed as a full screen shot. Kind Regards Matt Hoult

  4. Caner You say the screen powers down after a short while, does it do this with the screen up if so this will be ideal as I will be controlling the music with an iPad so I do not need the screen powered up during my listening. Can you recommend a quality USB cable I am currently using Transparent audio cables and need to invest in a high quality USB link from MBP to DAC? Your thoughts please? Regards Matt.
  5. Caner This is good advise, does the screen power down when not in use for a set period of time? Matt.
  6. CoolMilo Can you tell me when the MacBook is closed (screen down power still on) does the unit power down automatically or does it stay on. I want the unit to remain on but the screen in the down position can this be achieved ? Regards Matt.
  7. Barrows The mains high voltage (100-240v ac) will supply a switch mode power supply and this in turn will generate a low voltage (24v dc) this is all done externally to the MBP in the small rectangular brick so I guess the MBP is free from harmful nasty mains pollution? This is probably the reason why you can not hear any sound difference with the mains plugged in or the running on the battery? The MBP does seem the ideal platform solution for a music server this can be run on battery power isolating it from harmful mains contamients, the operating system can be installed on a SSD this will reduce internal noise as ther is no moving parts but can the MBP remain on with the screen in the closed position? Your thoughts please. Regards Matt.
  8. Caner Thank you for your reply. It is interesting that you have found large differences between your different set ups but I will consider the MBP as my starting point. I guess the best way to find out what is best is to try both platforms and let my ears make the decision for me Thanks Matt.
  9. Data Point Thank you for your reply. This is interesting to hear that your fan has never come on and with the use of a SSD this should be a very quite environment for the audio signal to pass through. I guess you could improve this by pulling out the power plug so the MBP is running on batteries only, this could not be done on the Mini? Matt.
  10. I am currently using the DCS Elgar DAC with the Purcell up sampler and the Verona clock. I have recently ordered the MF V-Link 192 to interface between the PC and DAC as my Elgar does not have a USB input. The DAC will feed a Gryphon Sonata Allegro pre-amp and the Gryphon Colosseum power amp with Rockport Ankaa speakers. Your thoughts please. Matt.
  11. Hello I am setting out to build a music server and am looking for some advise on what platform is best either the Mac Mini or MacBook Pro? I am particularly interested in which of these two platforms would be the quietest in terms of power supply noise and fan noise? I will be using a solid state drive for the operating system again to keep the noise down and network attached storage to store my music files. The mac will have 8mb of ram and run either Pure Music or Amarra. I will appreciate any advise. Kind Regards Matt Hoult.
