  1. So I want to stream from Tidal to my microrendu. Pretty simple setup - Windows 8.1 PC on a home network, fiber optic cable from switch to microrendu with TP-Link media converters, to Ayre Codex into my pre-amp. Everything works great with Roon and I recently learned how to use the 2.7 software update to stream Spotify. I found the "Updates to Tidal and Qobuz streaming" on page 194 of this thread. When I go to the Microsoft web page to download Linn Kazoo it says that I own the app. When I click on "Install on my devices" I get this message : Where do you want to install? It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account. and the "Install Now" box is grayed out. What's my next move? Also just want to verify that this is the most effective way to stream Tidal to my microrendu. Thanks!
  2. Do you have a better screenshot of the step: "Create an OpenHome Renderer"? I'm having trouble with this step and can't read the blurry text in the screenshot. If no better screenshot, what is the proper verbiage for each of the 4 text boxes? Thx!
  3. Thanks Vortecjr. Will give it a try. I assume I use Audio App Switcher to switch back and forth from MPD/DLNA for Tidal, and RoonReady for Roon. Love my microRendu by the way. What a great product! I'm experimenting with the TP-Link MC100CM optical network isolators (I know you don't support this) from my Verizon FIOS Gateway router to my microRendu (my PC is plugged into another port on the router). Just hooked it up yesterday; will post results after more testing. I've read on this forum that folks are getting better results with the TrendNet TFC-1000MGA.
  4. I'm running Tidal through Roon into my microRendu then into my Ayre Codex just fine (PC, not Mac computer). What's the right setup to run Tidal all by itself? Which microRendu app do I run, and what are the settings for Tidal? Any special settings on my PC? I want to see if I can stream Tidal's MASTERS tracks. Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find the info in this forum
  5. Thanks to all for the great responses and information! I'm going to run CAT6 throughout my house with a couple of fiber optic runs to my key locations. What I need now is a good source for CAT6 cable. I need three 500' boxes. Do I need to stay away from cheap Chinese cable and good with a quality manufacturer like Belden? If so, a link to a good online supplier would be most appreciated!
  6. I'm adding about a dozen ethernet cable runs from my network closet to various places around my house. I'm going to buy 3 boxes of 500' CAT6. I'd like to run cable that interferes least with my home audio equipment. Do I want stranded or solid? If you have a good source for CAT6, a link to Amazon or similar would be most appreciated. One of my new cable runs will end in the switch which feeds my microRendu. I'm probably going to do TP-Link fiber media converters to AQ audiophile cable to the microRendu.
  7. As Sooner said above, the Vandys have adjustable tailorable eq settings for the bass and the internal 400w subwoofers. See page 12 of the Vandersteen 5a manual at this link: http://vandersteen.com//media/files/Manuals/5amanual.pdf
  8. John Rutan from Audio Connections came over to do a tune-up to my Vandersteen 5a's. He just happened to have a QX-5 in the front seat of his car (John is a shrewd one) to compare to my Codex. We listened to my Codex first which is fed by the microRendu. We switched out the Codex and plugged the USB (not the CAT5 cable) microRendu into the Codex. Worked and sounded great. My microRendu is powered by a linear power supply. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  9. Tried it myself 2 weeks ago. Both the QX-5 Twenty and Codex sound and work great with the microRendu. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  10. Ignore my post above. Just discovered the wealth of info in the CA Forums.

  12. No posts in this forum since February? Has the world lost interest in building CAPS servers, or is there a better solution out there? Can't find CAPS products on Small Green Computer's website. Both the CAPS Morumba and Pipeline still look like very viable solutions to getting low noise data to one's DAC. What am I missing here?
  13. Is Small green Computer still selling the completed versions of CAPS? I'm specifically interested in purchasing Maroumba unless there's a better solution out there for an entry level music server with the SOtM USB.
