  1. Just got this, terrific sound quality and "feeling"! I am very impressed with the mono re-mix. Also fired up the PS3 for the first time in a while, glad it still works. Hopefully, as with Sgt. Peppers, there will be many more good re-master releases over the next few years as we reach the 50th anniversaries of what I consider to be overall the best albums in "popular" music. Full disclosure, I was 15 when the Airplane came up with this. Happy listening!
  2. Could the Auralic Vega DAC (for example) be made "MQA"-able with a firmware update? Is it only DSP or are there analog considerations?
  3. Thanks very much for taking the time to explain, I will get educated on this (while listening!) Nice touch: The album art shows the first 4 planets in their relative positions on the concert date with the Dead logo as the sun.
  4. How can I tell if the 24/96 was up-sampled from 16/44? Were both bit depth and rate upped? How were the 1990 24/192 transfers done and why not use a similar system for the 30 Trips release? Thanks for any insight. So far it sure sounds good!
  5. Arrived today, listening now to 24/96 FLAC of the 1966 Fillmore concert. Sounds great, full-bodied and detailed. Have to edit tracks and dates to get single concert albums. Anyone else get this?
  6. Just listened last night and it sounds great! The other Cohen albums are in 24/44 but this is 24/96 and says "48k recordings, analog mastered captured to 96/24." Anyone have more details on this? Thanks.
  7. In my case, it also does not see the network share, i.e. "smb://nas1/stereo" although that is the share name in Roon, for example.
  8. What is the advantage of using XLD over iTunes for ripping if both are set to output AIFF? Is there something different about the resulting files? What? Seriously curious, thanks...
  9. Yes, and the other big draw is from the Pass amps, coming on at 10:30 AM and off at 11:30 PM!
  10. I have Solar World SW270 panels and Enphase M215 micro-inverters. The software is Enlighten but I believe that Enphase is not giving the individual panel-monitoring option any more, probably due to folks calling if a panel was 5% low. Here is a screen showing the 6 recorded parameters for one panel at 5 minute intervals which is available since installation. The M215 data sheet claims 3% or less distortion which is borne out by a PS Audio PPP (with unknown accuracy). I just installed a Smappee setup that monitors grid, solar and power consumption right down to the appliance. Here is a screen from its iPad app, I'll describe the readings if anyone's interested.
  11. Thanks, those links both tout the superiority of micro-inverters over string inverters regarding efficiency, monitoring and maintenance, particularly when the panels are not all on the same plane and are sometimes partially shaded. They do not discuss AC quality. Superdad, I believe what you called a "string" inverter is what the Sunnyboy uses. Also, John S. said that the Sunnyboy produces "quasi-sine-wave" AC. I have a 10K-output micro-inverter setup which has performed flawlessly for 18 months and produces "pure sine-wave" AC with no outside box or high DC voltages. The software with individual panel monitoring has to be seen to be appreciated, it is amazing. I remain curious as to where the belief that "string" is better than "micro" (particularly as far as AC quality) is supported? Thanks.
  12. Would you mind explaining this or linking me? Thanks!
  13. Yikes! I will still pursue this but, for now, I'll continue to stream from the NAS. Thanks a lot for all your help!
  14. Here are screens showing request for Mac Finder password and NAS read permission error, thanks...
