  1. Exasound E28 HDMI input??? I know the Exasound e28 does not have hdmi input. I would like to extract the hdmi multichannel audio and route into the usb input of the e28. From Samsung TV and Oppo DVD>2 x HDMI>USB> e28>Amps Anyone have a router/converter that would do this? Optimally would take at least 2 HDMI channels from separate devices and output to USB for the e28 in multichannel. Right now, I am using the SPDIF optical output to e28 input and only getting 2 channel for movies.

  3. As we all know, much of the audiophile world has a bit of hype. So many times, higher cost just means you're paying more. We'd like to think we're getting better parts but oftentimes we're getting different parts in a gilded case. I can tell you that I never thought there were such audible differences in DACs, amps and the like until I started paying over $1,000 for separates. Major design issues I would classify as system compatibility, room acoustic software compatibility. Power supplies seem to be a really weak point for most DAC's upwards of $4,000 don't come with linear, low ripple power supplies. Another thing to consider is grounding and power line noise issues can make a larger impact on sound than any tech in the DAC's but that's off topic. I certainly hope one has dedicated lines and a properly grounded system if one is spending beyond a few $k on just the DAC...
  4. Wow- sorry to hear that. From my personal experience, I can highly recommend Metric Halo and Exasound for great sounding DACs and superior customer service
  5. Nagano violin solo in dsd....anyone have a link? ( I found the wsd file but that can't be played) PM me if anyone has a lead on a dsd file of this
  6. I would like to give credit where credit is due I am very happy with my Exasound e28 Great DAC and Fantastic Customer Service I have gotten. I had a few teething issues integrating it into my system but everything worked out thanks to exasound support and customer service. George - Thank You now if I can only find that Nagano violin solo in dsd....anyone have a link? ( I found the wsd file but that can't be played)
  7. I am actually going to use this with another dac that's rated for 12V / 2A input
  8. Just found this info also - "You can easily drop the output voltage of a DC power supply using some diodes in a series. Use oridinary silicon diodes rated at least the same amp capacity as the power supply, or higher. For each diode in series, subtract 0.6 volts. Just three in series will reduce the voltage 1.8 volts, down to 12 volts."
  9. If a DAC has 12V / 2A requirement, is it OK to use a 13.8V / 7A linear power supply? I thought an electrical component only pulls as many amps as it needs from the power supply and that a slight voltage variance is OK?
  10. Thanks for the great suggestions - my DSD listening is on hold as the capable DAC is in the shop. Also, my system has developed a nasty hum that seems a bit higher frequency than a ground loop. As well as a loud buzzing in both channels when the amps turn off.
  11. Dirac was not too detailed - the basically said Metric Halo was not compatible
  12. Hi Kal- did you ever get around to doing this: "If it could work the same magic with higher-priced DACs such as my exaSound e28, the UpTone USB Regen Read more at http://www.stereophile.com/content/uptone-audio-usb-regen#8rpLFFfOmquo3BkR.99"
  13. still searching for a modern era recorded, well recorded, great performance of Rhapsody in Blue in high res for USA download
  14. and I can't get it Dear HIGHRESAUDIO Visitor, "...due to territorial constraints and also different releases dates in each country you currently can`t purchase this album. We are updating our release dates twice a week. So, please feel free to check from time-to-time, if the album is available for your country."
