  1. Thanks for letting me know, that would be unfortunate.
  2. It does indeed, and I've used it on my Macbook to successfully extract ISO files to DSF.
  3. Not to my knowledge. I believe it only converts existing files.
  4. I recently discovered that XLD now converts SACD ISOs to your format of choice. I find XLD more convenient than the Sonore tool and no Java needed. https://sourceforge.net/projects/xld/
  5. His interpretations of Bach. I'm not sure I can comment on anything else.
  6. Initial impressions of the Gilels set: wonderful playing. The piano recording quality isn't bad but seems to be miked at a bit of a distance. Not audio show demo material, but more or less ok (could have a bit more bass weigh, and some less tape hiss). Don't buy it for the audio, buy it for the performance. I'm currently listening to Brahms op. 116, and the performance is very nuanced and intelligent. Won't replace my current reference recordings of Volodos or Hough, but there are truly special moments in this recording. And the Dutch audience is very disciplined in their coughing. I had some technical issues with the Peterson download that I need to investigate before I can report back here.
  7. I just bought the 12€ Oscar Peterson set and the 28€ complete Gilels set out of interest, as I truly admire both artists. Will report back.
  8. +1 for Watkin. It’s usually my first go to version. That said I fully agree that one set isn’t enough.
  9. DSD64 from Highresaudio. Still amazed how well Manfred Eicher’s team was able to record stuff back in the 70s. This is not only presumably the first studio album of the future “Standards” trio, but also truly excellent fodder for my new Focal Utopia / Naim Uniti HE combo.
