  1. It’s a bit of a minefield, I’m not sure if the Lumin mini is wireless. My router is in a different room from where I tend siting the streamer.
  2. My mini is on its last legs. Can any of you guys help me decide between ab Altair G1 and an Aries G1? I am stuck with wireless, stream via qobuz and Audirvana through the Mac to a ifi usb to spdif converter, on to a schiit modi multibit dac then on to a Sugden integrated amp. I don’t store files and have no CD player so it’s streaming only from qobuz. The Altair would reduce the box count but would this be at the cost of reduced performance? Am I missing something, is the Altair just an Aries with a pre amp and built in dac? Both units are the same price here in the UK.
  3. I wouldn't like to think I'm in the minority when I state that I'm really impressed with 2.0, sounds terrific and the user interface is fine by me. I've been using various incarnations of version 1.x, eventually settled on 1.10 but for me 2.0 tops it sonically. My only minor gripe is that perhaps only quarter of the album art has migrated across, will sort that when I have time. Thanks Damien and well done!
  4. Thanks for the reply. I'm actually trying to reduce gain, I'm going to be fitting attenuators between a preamp and a pair of power amps and I wondered if gain between the mac and dac had to be considered as well. I do use Audirvana +. Cheers Jim
  5. This may be the daftest question posted on this site but here goes anyway. Does a Mac Mini produce gain from a USB port ino a dac/pre in much the same way as a CD does?
  6. Sorry, it was meant to be a joke, will keep my thoughts to myself in the future.
  7. You may be correct Jud. My dac has the on board pre amp disabled and volume control is via the seperate integrated. I was about to compliment you yesterday on your definitive answer to my initial query but i seem to have opened a can of worms.
  8. Thanks Jud, much appreciated.
  9. Fairly new to all this folks! Currently using A+ with a Leema Elements pre/dac and Leema Tucana integrated. Leema have advised to use the pre/dac as a dac only and let the integrated take care of pre duties. In A+ options should I control volume via the dac or the A+ software? I note when I let the dac control volume, the control knob on A+ Is greyed out at around 9.00. I thought this should be ideally at max setting for improved Performance. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  10. Will do, thanks for the responses gents
  11. Thanks for that, Can you advise waht the function of the fourth cable is please?
  12. Hi folks Fairly trivial matter. I have a late 2009 mini with the separate power brick. Can anyone advise if it's possible to reduce the length of the lead. I've read somewhere that the lead isn't a standard 3 core(live, neutral and earth) cable. I'm trying to tidy up my rack and the Mac flex at 2.0m long is an eyesore.
  13. This is the first version i've used where the first few seconds of the most recently played song wasnt repeated, loving the software, thanks!
