Wow, you've been doing your homework.... have you considered Plinius for amplification? I got the 9100 amp not to long ago after some serious research and i really like it. The 9200 should be better still. The primare I30 was on my shortlist too but the plinius blew it away. Good luck with your system!

Hi there I recently bought a Duet and am currently using it as my dac between my powerbook and amp. I am very pleased with it but have not heard other dac's so I can't compare it to anything. The sound quality from the mac via the duet is however a better than from my Harman Kardon cd player. It is not really a fair comparison though as the cd player is hardly an "audiophile" product.

Hi Guys, searching the forum I found a similar topic on USB cables but nothing on Firewire. I want to relocate my amp and dac to a place further away from my desk so I will need a longer firewire cable. The cable will have to be 6-7m long. Any suggestions anyone? Would a cable of that length limit the sound quality? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, been following this site with interest for some while now, so I thought i would join. For my last two equipment upgrades (amp and DAC) reviews have been of crucial importance. Because it would be quite impossible for me to listen to all the DAC's or Amps within my budget I made a shortlist consisting of the amps that were reviewed best. In a way the reviews I found all over the interned decided for me which pieces of equipment to take a closer look at and which to leave for what they are (not). In the end everyone has to make a choice for himself and but the internet is flooded with positive reviews of a certain piece of equipment it must be for a reason...
