Hi, I want to set up an iTunes server and would like some advice please. This is all new to me so please bear with me.
What I want to do is to create an iTunes server using something like a Zyxel NSA-221 2-Bay NAS media server. This comes with a LAN interface. What I need to know is:
1. Can I connect this media server to my wireless router via a LAN cable? If so, will this device then become visible to all computers, iPod, Ipad etc. on the wi-fi network?
2. What software do I need? Does any software need to be installed on the media server? Is one PC a master used to install and configure the network?
Once everything is set up and working I want to be able to have, say, the iPod access the iTunes database on the media server without any other PC running. Is this possible?
I am using Windows 7 based PCs, all wi-fi enabled and iPod and soon an Ipad.
