VEGA supportS DXD format (352.8KS/s and 384KS/s PCM signals in 32bit) as well as DSD stream at2.8224MHz and 5.6448MHz in native through 'DoP V1.1' transmission protocol. · Megahertz Upsampling The internal megahertz up sampling algorithm can process and up-sample all incoming PCM signals to technology process and up-sampling all incoming PCM signal to about 1.5MHz in 32bit depth. Hi Having enjoyed reading the very informative presentation by John Mingo, published in Aug 2014. It’s clear that the guys at Baetis Audio have done a serous amount of research and I don’t want to copy their ideas just to make something similar which to be fair I don’t expect to sound as good. The technical question I have is how would I as someone who has basic desktop pc building experience / limited funds, take the SPDIF (0.5v /75ohm) from the mobo pins and digitally convert that to 4v /110ohm balanced AES3 output? This would then need to plug into the XLR/AEB input on my Dac. The Vega DAC has got a built in isolation transformer. Based on the article it’s clear that it’s the purist approach, therefore this is likely to be more efficient perhaps than using an external digital converter like the Sotm Dx box. Also the SotM digital converter only accepts USB input. Found a good explanation on Sonic sense site but the converters they suggest are limited to 96hz, any alternatives suggestions please? Hello This DAC 2 was originally bought by me from the UK authorised agent, Item Audio in Summer 2010. It has all the features and inputs I think most people will need. This DAC costs me £1299 so I am prepared to sell it for half that to someone who will appreciate it. If you’re happy to pay this price and live within fifty miles of Northampton (UK), I am offering to come and install it for you. You will need a digital source and a power amp on hand with cables etc. If you live further then I can obtain quotes for the cost of a courier. In terms of value, you would find it hard to buy a new DAC this good at this price - £650 (+ shipping). The new DAC DSD version costs £1399. I have the original remote, instruction manual and shipping box. I can provide a standard mains lead and budget USB cable if you need them. Hi I'm using an old school TTI lab bench Psu, with just 1mv ripple. Compared to the budget 12v switch mode psu that I bought, the sound is so much nicer. The 'noise' made by the budget psu just disappeared. In fact it makes it sound so good I'm wondering if a battery is going to make much improvement. Bought a used one of Ebay ;-)

Hi Peter J I have a DAC-2 firmware V1.4, 2010. Hoping they will offer a firmware upgrade soon. Even then I will want a guarantee that it will be compatible with the latest Sotm device You might consider the original Sotm device which does work on USB 2.0.

Hi Mark Just caught up on skimming this topic; Mark, I have a complete list of parts, prices and suppliers for you if you would consider building this amazing sounding audio PC I built mine a few months ago and love it. Rather than spend the £200 or so on the USB, PCI filter card I bought a used TTI laboratory power supply. That just made all the distortion disappear! I was just left with what seems like a quieter presentation of the music, it’s beautiful. Friends and Family are impressed. I may even upgrade the PSU with a shielded Belden cable and upgrade the mains fuse. Send me a private mail and I will send you the list
