  1. I'm going. It will be my first time.
  2. I run Spatial Computer Room Correction/Pure Vinyl and I am very happy with the results. MacMini: 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 duo 8GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 500GB hard drive My typical CPU usage is 25%
  3. This is a speaker I am very interested in. Great review. What speakers did you consider before deciding on the Orion?
  4. I agree that if it is not easy to operate, for either me or my wife, I have to throw in the towel. The best sounding system I ever owned was Emerald Physics 2.7's tri-amped using an Orpheus Prism DAC. The sound the system produced was absolutely amazing, but the difficulty level of using the set up caused me to sell all of it for the much simpler set that we currently use.
  5. My wife actually prefers the look of speakers sans grills. Lucky me!
  6. How long have you owned your Adam monitors? What did you own before? I love my ATCs, but I would have loved to have compared them side-by-side with Adam's before making the purchase.
  7. I use active ATC 50 monitors in my system. I love the simplicity and, of course, the sound of such a set up. I understand different strokes for different folks, as they say, but I am perplexed as to why active speakers are not more popular.
  8. Portfolio Manager (Wealth Manager for Individuals) by day and audio enthusiast by night. I love this site! Thanks to all the contributors and, of course, Chris.
  9. I love my ATCs. I was able to audition a 5.1 Genelec set up (do not remember the models, but they were fairly large sized) playing a movie (not music unfortunately) at a Magnolia store inside a local Best Buy and it was very impressive. The room was set up for home theater with some reasonable acoustic room treatments. Both ATC and Genelec have fantastic dynamics. The midrange on the ATCs is what sold me, but in fairness I did not have opportunity to properly audition the Genelecs. Please feel free to ask any question.
  10. I find your comments about what can be measured very reassuring and enlightening. I would love to hear more about how you address the noise generated by all these issues. Perhaps another post... I am a non-techie audio enthusiast that uses a mac mini (early 2011) due to the a few simple factors: 1. It is very easy to use (see non-techie description above) 2. I use Spatial Computer room correction software (huge difference versus straight PureMusic), which can only be used on a mac. 3. It has very high WAF Happy Listening!
