  1. I listen to my iPhone/iTunes plugged into the audio in mini port while in my work commute car. On the weekends I drive my Wife's new (er) car with it's blue tooth connection to my iPhone. My profession has me visit multiple construction sites daily in a company car. I use FM and listen to NPR or the listener supported local classical music station. I do not care for commercial based media and avoid it whenever I can.
  2. I went with a Mac Mini. I had a Keyboard, Monitor and Mouse. I added to two Seagate 750 gig. external storage drives. One for music storage and playback and the other for backup. I connect with USB to a HagUSB converter then SPDIF into my DAC. My older DAC does not have a USB input. The total cost was around $1400.00 and it sounds pretty good. It is so easy to access and play music I do not use my high $ multi format disc player anymore. I am thinking about selling it soon.
  3. Hi Chris Ya I get all the catalogs too. Interesting. I only rip what I can find or the redbook sound quality sucks. I rip acc them convert to apple lossless. Funny 60's and 70's rips sound outstanding but most of the 80's stuff i've rip sounds so so. Vinyl is now a niche market and is becoming more popular everyday. Me I like buying used records and putting them on my server. A good Album cost 4 bucks. Can't beat that.
  4. I rip lp's to my mac music server all the time. I prefer 60's and 70's music on vinyl. I use Roxio's Toast and Jam. It's just to easy and it sounds darn near as good and the vinyl. Don't get me wrong, I am not a vinyl head and I don't have a high $ turntable, I just like music and I am willing to work for what I want. There is a lot of stuff that will never make to the digital marketplace.
