Sorry Panelhead, have been logged off the site for a while without knowing. My continued problem with the Pulse is the volume not responding after a change in song resolution (16/44.1 to 24/96 for example). returned it once for this, not fixed. done with this company after my Pulse, the crap iems and now waiting for the Wave DAP for almost 2 years. thankfully, I only funded vanilla or stripped down versions. i wish i could be more positive; but i do have a friend who has an infinity and he likes it a lot. Mine does sound good, but not the game changer it was marketed to be, especially after all the hassles. Good luck with the RMA!
  2. That really is sad. But stereo is very difficult to be a living. Wayne may have issues and his clients are sharing in his pain.
These type of stories are common. Many refurb/modifiers have fallen into the same traps. Not turning around the product and spending the funds. Usually end up selling your speakers to pay other bills.

    last of 2nd ....

Ultimately, I concluded that I could not trust anything that PK might claim.
Below, as you will see, I made PK an offer to purchase the Quads he is trying to sell, using the $5,000 I advanced earlier as credit, and paying him another $1,000.
His answer: 'if I could afford to do that I would do to thief's I can't Pk'

    That's a new one.

We all have troubles. I've certainly had my share through the years.
The measure of our character is how we deal with our troubles.
Do we take personal responsibility? or do we play the victim?
Do we tell the truth? or do we lie and then expand upon those lies?
Do we take our customer's monies ... even when we know we cannot perform?
    Do we make outrageous excuses?
Do we say that we "won't" or do we claim that we "can't" ... because we're a victim of thieves?

    2nd continued ...

Six months later I contacted PK about a second pair of 57s ... for stacking.
He said he had a pair of used bronze speakers that were ready for refurbishment.
We agreed upon $5,000. I sent him $3,000 in advance.
Two months later, he requested the final $2,000 and said he would have them completed and shipped in three weeks.
His explanation was that he was having 'troubles' and he needed the cash to get him through.
    That was a year ago.

    He never sent the speakers.
For months and months he continued to claim that he was going to send the speakers, but his troubles were increasing.
His explanations became far fetched; and then even more far fetched.

    to be continued ....

    Here is the 2nd:

Unfortunately, PK has apparently had some personal and business problems that have been visited upon his customers.
One of those customers includes me.
I have included my most recent communication with PK, below in red font.
It includes my offer to him yesterday at 10:59 a.m PST ... and his response.

    Story:
Two years ago I shipped a pair of bronze, decent, used 57s to PK for full refurbishing.
They came back a couple of months later, looking new and sounding just incredible.
I use them daily. They are the best sounding Quads that I have heard. I couldn't have been happier.
I expect that many on this list have the same experience.

    To be continued ...

    Hi Panelhead,

I don't know how to attached e-mails to a PM so I have copy/pasted the comments below. Also, I guess there is a 1000 word max on these so I will send the 2nd e-mail separately (it is quite long it it might take 2 messages.

My e-mail address is underwoodericd@gmail.com if you want to e-mail me and I can attach the actual e-mails.

    First comment:

Sadly, my experience matches Eric Underwood's. I sent my panels in for rebuild in June of 2012, with Wayne predicting a three week turnaround (while demanding payment in advance). Endless delays, outright lies, upcharges, etc. resulted in finally getting my reworked speakers back in late November 2012. I can't really speak to any quality issues on the panels since I re-installed them myself, but I would rather have to listen forever to a Radio Shack transistor radio than have any additional dealings with Mr. Wayne Picquet.
