  1. Does your unit have Dirac and is it enabled in the BluOS module?
  2. Or, send me a file and I’ll check it by inverting to show differences (if any).
  3. This is really strange. Have you checked the rip, to make sure both L and R are identical (in Audacity or similar)?
  4. I’ve never heard of this. How would it know the tracks are mono, presuming there are actually a left and right channel in the file, even if they contain the same information? Or, are you playing true mono with a single channel in the file, meant for a single speaker?
  5. The new Joni Mitchell box has arrived and I'm really enjoying this one in Atmos.
  6. The stereo version on the Blu-ray is identical to the high resolution download, and nearly identical to the CD, except the CD is 44.1.
  7. Hi Guys, just a follow up to the article. I should've posted this in the main text because for audiophiles it's really important. Check out the dynamic range in the TrueHD Atmos version compared to the stereo version. It's over double! TrueHD Atmos: Stereo:
  8. We can't forget to compare support models when comparing Roon and Aurender. Aurender support can't be beat, only equalled. Roon support is a tough one.
  9. Agree. The one funky thing abotu Macs with optical is that macOS limited the output to 24/96. Installing Windows on the same machine enabled up to 24/192 on the same hardware. Not that big of a deal and the ship has sailed anyway.
  10. Hi Kirk, stay away from HDMI from a Mac and the Toslink option. The HDMI output on Macs is severely limited in sample rate and channels, although channel numbers won't come into play here. Toslink will be battle as well, as you've started to see with your searches. A USB to S/PDIF coax is what you want. Plenty of converters around, and most should support the full range of Apple Music sample rates. I've used these in the past with great success.
  11. Yes. Everything except the Constellation mono amps is behind the walls on the left or right of the room.
  12. Hi Guys, here's my take on the album in my own room on my own system, as opposed to the theater:
