iTunes 7.7 is finally here! The highly anticipated remote control feature is officially part of this release. However we'll have to wait for the iPod/iPhone 2.0 software release on Friday July 11th to take advantage of this feature. Will this be the end of Remote Buddy and Signal software? EDIT: Word on the street says this app is available through the iTunes store now!
"Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home - a free download from the App Store."
More audiophile details coming as soon as I dig into this release a little more. If anybody has had a chance to play with v7.7 please let us know what you find!

Ya I saw. . .
ya I saw that too, but wanted to wait for the official one through iTunes. This one you have to do a complete erase and reboot. I figured tomorrow is soon here. Unless I get bored tonight!! . . . .

Wicked!
Lets hope it's all it should be! Looking forward to it being uploaded elsewhere - I hate the iTunes store personally, and have no inclination to hand over my credit card details for a free app.
Thanks for the update on this Chris

I have been using the Signal
I have been using the Signal software controlling a Mac mini via an iTouch. This is so much better it doesn't bear comparison. It is not perfect, classical recordings are still somewhat of a challenge but much improved. Although I was willing to use Signal it was too glitchy and limited to recommend it to customers. The best ten bucks I have spent in a long time.
