Dumbest question of the week

Recommended Posts

OK, this is probably the dumbest question of the week, but I'd just like to get some clarification from the forum. If an album is termed, "24-bit digitally re-mastered", does that mean, if I was to rip the CD to AIFF, I should use a 24-bit setting (Linear PCM, 24 bit big endian signed integer, under Max for example) when doing so?

The album in question is The Band by The Band (http://www.amazon.com/Band/dp/B00004W510).

After reading your reply, my question seems even dumber Chris! I should have put two and two together and figured a CD would be 16-bit.

Thanks for jolting my couple of brain-cells together Chris!
