In Praise of Blue Jean Cables
Here was my situation.
In my bedroom, I had a pair of AudiioEngine A5s (the old version) running off of an Airport Express (old version) through an AudioEngine D1 DAC. Connecting the DAC to the speakers was an old Monster Cable which I had used when playing my iPod on other people's stereos.
Then a friend returned a pair of A2s and a D1, and I decided to put them in my bathroom, running off a new Airport Express. I needed a pair of interconnects and remembered that many on this forum had been impressed with Blue Jeans.
So I ordered two sets of cables, an RCA to RCA (for the A2s) and an RCA to mini (for the A5s). I wasn't expecting much of an improvement, as the rooms are pretty awful acoustically, but Blue Jeans are priced just above the bottom-rung for things like Monster Cable, so why not?
This ended up being a very solid tweak. The A5s gained more definition, especially in the bottom range. The A5s, combined with D2 and the Blue Jeans, make for a truly decent system (and an exceptional value).
With the A2s, the change was surprising. The sound in the bathroom had been boomy, what with the tile and the fact that the A2s practically abut the wall. Most of that boominess is gone. Before I put up with poor sound quality, just to have music. Now, the music sounds good. Even public radio sounds better.
Others have compared Blue Jeans cables favorably to much more expensive brands. I didn't have the opportunity to do so, so must remain silent on that point. But, without hesitation, if you're in the market for a $30-ish cable (for three feet), you should definitely consider Blue Jeans.

Do they make speaker cables, too? I might consider an inexpensive tweak to my desktop system.

I've got 3 feet each of the LC-1's between the DAC and amp, and the Squeezebox and amp, as well as 15 feet of their custom built and terminated Canare StarQuad (ultrasonically-welded locking terminations). All beefy, sturdy, well made stuff. And all for under $160. Booyah!
Apple MacBook Pro (MD104xx/A) / Mac OS X v.10.6.8 / ALAC / iTunes v.11.0.2 (26) / Audirvana Plus v.1.4.6 (EA and Direct Modes / iZotope 64-bit SRC power of 2 oversampling) • Oyaide NEO d+ 1394a • Weiss DAC2 (F/W v.2.0.3.5) • Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 • Red Wine Audio Signature 30.2 (original, non LFP-V version) • Radio Shack 16-Gauge Speaker Wire (unterminated to unterminated) • Klipsch Cornwall (all original, c. 1985)

Yeah, they are a good cable outfit. Use cable with good basic electrical parameters, charge a fair price per foot, and a fee for good quality termination. I have some mostly in a video set up.
