    Weiss MAN301 Music Server

    Has anyone had a chance to hear this new server from Weiss? I wonder how it compares to the Aurender/SOtM/CAPS/Mac?

    Chris, are you planning to review this unit?

    The first units arrive this week, I had the oppurtunity to play with one at the Munich show ,and it was very smooth, super app, volume onthe IPad too, Daniel said they had just agreed with Apple to license the Gracenote library, personally I am Looking forward to
    not having another ITunes/ OSX update to deal with!

    Keith, how would one connect an external DAC to the MAN301? A weiss DAC could be connected via FireWire I suppose to take advantage of the isosynchronous data transfer arguably taking the cable jitter out of the equation. What about USB DAC's? I do not see a USB audio out? Would you need to use the digital audio out (via AES/EBU, S/PDIF or optical) and hence not be able to take advantage of asynch data transfer?

    Thanks! The USB output can be used for storage or an external D/A converter.
