• CES Pre Show Coverage

Consumer Electronics Show news about products and manufacturers is already seeping out. Computer Audiophile has access to all the press releases and information about your favorite manufacturers and products. Our pre-show coverage starts today january 1, 2008!

As mentioned a few days ago, Olive media Products will be releasing a 24 bit / 96 KHz music server.

Wavelength Audio will be releasing new USB DACs at the show. A cheaper 24/96 version should be included.

Linn will be releasing the Akurate DS music server. Rumor has it that Linn will also release a Classik DS music server. Details on the Classik are very sketchy at this point. The Akurate DS will be controllable from a web browser among other things. Good news for those using an iPod Touch. Readers of Computer Audiophile will also be interested to know this music server will store its music on NAS drives. Australian Hi Fi magazine interviewed Linn's Gilad Tiefenbrun who said, "Vinyl has finally met its match... Linn’s philosophy is that if something sounds better, it is better, and we hope customers will compare Akurate DS against traditional vinyl and CD sources to discover that digital streaming over the network has finally come of age."

Here are some related press releases.

Indeed was interesting, but posting it as a follow up to CES 2008 report confused me: was thinking the Akurate DS had been out for years and wondering what Chris was on until I read the posting date...

I think this really deserves it's own thread as I think many people will miss it... Any chance Chris or for Francis to report in the main forum?
