oly
Hello, I am new here. Please excuse my English. I am Belgian and I speak French. I have a few questions. I have a high-end with a Macmini server audio to a DAC Weis Medea. Concerns import CDs into iTunes, the best is the Apple Loosless or AIFF? If this is the AIFF, what are the parameters to use? 44.1 or 48 kHz? Regarding preferences Audio Midi, should they be put in 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz? Some say that the best is the same for 96 khz files 44.1 or 48 kHz. Is this true? A big thank you for your help specialists! Oly Link to comment
Innertuber
Since you said for importing CDs, for regular CDs 44.1 works - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_Disc_Digital_Audio AIFF is a duplicate copy, no worries there. Lossless is fine if you want to conserve space. Turn error correction on for importing. Turn all the equalization gobbledegook off. Set iTunes volume to max for playback. A USB or optical out would be preferred over headphone mini jack. I'd say, no need to up sample, downsample or sideways sample and redbook CD. If you start messing with higher resolution files then some things begin to change, but try this and see how you like it. Kick out the jams, brothers and sisters! - MC5 Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Said in such smooth way tuber! An engineer could have said the same thing in only 10 pages :-) No offense engineers, just over exaggerating your analytical views a little.
