DavidJPettifor
I'm interested to know what forum users here consider to be a complete digital archive of a chosen album? For example, does an archive need to include certain files, such as a .log, .cue and .md5/.sfv to be considered authentic? Is the archive not complete without high resolution scans of the original artwork? Basically, is digital archiving in the finer detail? -- djp Intel iMac + Beresford TC-7510 + Little Dot MK III + beyerdynamics DT 231 = Computer audiophile quality on the cheap! --- Samsung Q1 + M-Audio Transit + Sennheiser PX 100 = Computer audiophile quality on the go! The Computer Audiophile
Hi david - This is a really interesting question that many people don't even consider. The big thing is how time consuming a complete digital archive can be. I think you're right on with the concept of scanning original artwork, but now we are talking a whole bunch of time. Without time as a consideration I think everything you've mentioned would be fabulous. It would be very cool to have the complete CD booklet at your fingertips in a PDF. Similar to what HDTracks offers with its downloads. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
