BEEMB
Just a quick post aimed more at those with PC's. Just wondering what, if any, HTPC / Media Centre PC cases people are using. Whilst I'm happy with my Antec Fusion 430 in that it's well built and very very quiet (you've got to listen hard to hear anything given that there is only one case fan), I'm not convinced by it's PC like looks and proportions. If there is anyone out there using a Micro ATX motherboard with a very good quality, good looking case, I'd be interested in hearing from you. Matt. Uzeb
I have been eyeballing case's from Origen, Zalman, Silverstone, Moneual and a German company called mCubed HFX (actually look like a power amps). None are cheap but more inline with a High end audio system. Zalman Tnn 300 and HFX are real nice no fans Check this place out them seem to carry most of them www.pcalchemy.com www.mcubed-tech.com PC running XP pro, C Play, TC Electonic Konnect 8 Firewire to Spdif, 2 Lyngdorf 2200TDAi amplifiers, Synergy Acoustics crossoverless monitors driven actively by the 2200TDAi\'s, custom subwoofers driven by a Lyngdorf SDA2175 Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
All the cases mentioned above are pretty good. I've built many of these and each case has its pros and cons. Before the TNN300 came out I had the TNN500AF. This was an absolute monster and handled very hot Pentium 4 CPUs and powerful graphics cards. It was cool and silent but way too large. Check out this case from Lian-Li. Very simple look to it but really cool. http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=136&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62 Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
Uzeb
Thank you Chris for reminding of this case: I just ended my search and bought one today for about $200 bucks up here in Canada. Definitely real cool; will look real nice next to my black Tact 2150's. I am putting together a new dedicated PC using information I have gathered from this forum and others over the past year. I'll keep everyone informed of my progress. BTW wonderful forum I thought I'd mention PC running XP pro, C Play, TC Electonic Konnect 8 Firewire to Spdif, 2 Lyngdorf 2200TDAi amplifiers, Synergy Acoustics crossoverless monitors driven actively by the 2200TDAi\'s, custom subwoofers driven by a Lyngdorf SDA2175 Link to comment
BEEMB
This is an interesting HTPC case from Nexus. http://www.psile.com/ With mini-ITX motherboards sporting full HD capabilities you really can have a cool looking media centre sat next to your TV, with the audio capabilites we've come to expect and full 1080 24p support. Whack an ESI Juli@ in here and you're away. Matt. HTPC: AMD Athlon 4850e, 4GB, Vista, BD/HD-DVD into -> ADM9.1 Link to comment
