darrenwm
Front Row used to work brilliantly and still does for photos and video, but it crashes with music. If I load up Front Row, click on Music, and then Artists, all I see is a blank screen, although I can hear the hard drive making noises. Eventually I have to get out of it by pressing Apple+Alt+Esc. I've Googled and my issue seems to be what these guys are seeing: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1412982&tstart=0 Has anybody experienced this? Darren Link to comment

darrenwm
Thank you. I am finding that the Artists list does appear eventually but one must wait a minute or so, and press up and down a little on a Apple Remote to "crack the whip". It is suprising that the Mini struggles with this. My media collection is reasonable but not huge by some standards. I just have a 1TB Firewire drive connected directly. Only 600GB contains media, of which 400GB is the music. Films and videos seem to be unaffected. To be honest I don't really use Front Row for the music navigation -- I have a Touch -- but if I have guests the TV is quite a social/easy interface, and it is embarassing as Apple claims to "just work".
