audiozorro
Where does computer audio stand with multi-channel audio? Fans of SACDs and DVD-As often remind me of the superiority of multi-channel audio for jazz and classical music. I also know that the larger audience is more interested in the multi-channel of home theater and I thought the computer A/V server could be a key hub - is this still true? If I download the some of the multi-channel file formats from 2L what are some recommended system configurations for audio playback of these files? In fact, I wish the 2L website offered some suggested hardware configurations for quality playback like Reference Recordings does for their HRx files. Link to comment
The Computer Audiophile
Hey audizorro - I know there are some really cool developments taking place behind closed doors. But, not much is out there right now. The big issue is software to play multichannel. It's not user friendly. DACs certainly support it now.
