Good interview ... disappointed not to hear anything of your thoughts on the Bowers and Wilkins Nautilus and Classe system.

      Yipeeee .. first reply!

Chris that was a great interview. I really enjoyed your take on DSD in particular. I think you are spot on in that we just really want to listen to our music, format be damned rather than think about what gear needs to be swapped or switches thrown to make it work. Glad that this was more than just a Q&A by the end of the interview. The interaction as two guys talking about audio was very refreshing and kept the interview candid and involving.

You are on to a good thing here!

PS forgot to say that the interview was a great use of the video medium. As "Booster MPS" said was nice how it developed into a chat rather than simple Q&A. I also liked your take on DSD as it shows exactly how a good Computer Audio system should work - switching from one format to another seamlessly.

Pretty good interview. The sound coulda been better though no offense

After seeing this it made me realize that Chris is a down to earth cool type of guy. No anthony bordain type of arrogance, just really likable and genuine.

I am getting so much out of CA TV. Your video's have been great. It was also neat to get a dealers perspective. I had no idea CA was so "out there". I mean how long is it going to take to hit mainstream..? iTunes has been around what 15 years?.. Longer.. Incredible. Maybe it will never get there and the next generation will just MOG and Pandora HiREZ.. Thanks again Chris.

      Chris,

Really enjoyed meeting you and attending your seminar in Raleigh (I was the one guy reading the website from Afghanistan in 2007). Here's a great story. My wife - a complete non-audiophile who is content listening to music over tinny laptop speakers - had a sonic epiphany at the event. She fell in love with both the sight and sound of the Classe/B&W Nautilus demo and agreed that upgrading to floorstanders in our living room would be worth the decorative sacrifice. It's great to see a novice "get it" and why events like these are so important. BTW, her funniest comment of the evening concerned the Wilson Audio Alexia: "It looks like a subway ticket terminal!"

      Keep up the great work!

I was frustrated by the sound. I used two lav microphones but it sounded like I used the on-camera mic only. Oh well. I'm learning as I go.

I'm very happy you saw me as I really am. Thanks.

Great to read you like the videos.

Sometimes we computer audiophiles get caught up in out own world and don't realize this is rocket science to many music lovers. It's good to hear Leon's perspective. He told me that 85% of his Sonos customers have never heard of Sonos until shown it by the staff at Audio Advice.

Thanks for coming up to me after the session, it was a pleasure to meet you. The story about your wife and two very different pairs of speakers is classic. Thanks for sharing.

The videos keep getting better and better. I enjoyed the interview as well, very casual which seemed to flush out more interesting things than a more rigid format.

I never would have imagine two 40-ish die hard audiophiles, one owns a high-end store and the other on the cutting edge of computer audio, discussing the virtues of CA talking about 'WHAT' easy acsess, your whole library at the tap of your finger, you don't have to get up out of your chair! Yikes I thought it was about the 'quality stupid' How weird, I would think this discussion was taking place between a couple of teenagers.

Chris all in good fun, I really enjoyed the video, but I did thought it was obvious that no matter how old you are the convenients that CA provides is an added bonus. But in my view there is no question that CA is formost all about sound quality. Eight years ago I unplug my $8500 CD front end and never look back.

Keep up the great work, I really appreciate the CA web site. Sam

Chris, I really enjoyed the interview with Leon. It was just a couple of audiophiles talking. Way cool.

Your thoughts on DSD, however, are soon(in my humble opinion) to be ready for a change. Think the new Sony hardware and software(DSD downloads on Acoustic Sounds and, per Absolute Sound, on HDTracks as well) and the expected big promotional push that the latest edition of Absolute Sound says is coming from Sony. Think the Light Harmonic Geek, just 2 months away and built with the laptop and portable headphone listener in mind(not to forget plugged into powered speakers). Think jriver with a jremote controller on your iPad. Think the ever increasing number of DSD DACs. In truth, the big knock on DSD used to be the dearth of material. Acoustic Sounds. as you know, is reportedly about to give us 500 reasons to rethink that one.

I also had a quiet laugh when you said that turntables were like rocket science. There are countless baby boomers like myself who remember the days when turntables were pretty much the only game in town and one of the first things a person in their late teens or early 20's did with the cash from their first jobs was to buy the best turntable-based system that they could afford.

Quibbles aside, I have to say, your CA TV concept has thus far been a smashing success. Keep up the great work.

Chris, I'd just like to make it clear I just generally prefer reading stuff than being told it ... So it's not your videos I don't like its videos in general (I have made similar comments about (sorry can remember the guys name) the video reviews of headphones. Your videos are probably the only ones (video reviews) that I watch online ... Anyway I hope my comments are constructive criticism rather than just hating them. On the other hand the back and forth interview / "conversation with..." are much more interesting than written reviews.

I tend to be more critical about things I think are good / have potential; if I really hated it you wouldn't know cause I wouldn't have written anything...

Same here - I almost never watch videos, and will simply skip news stories that are *only* available via video. I just read a heck of a lot faster than I can listen

I agree it was a great interview, but like you I waited patiently for a word, an admiring look, anything, from Chris regarding the Nautilus. I can't believe an audiophile can sit there for more than 20 minutes without saying a word about one of the icons of high-end audio history, when it's right there in the background. Maybe in another episode?

I'm curious, where does everyone go to check out reviews of new releases?
