bmerikal
Does anyone have any recommendations as to interconnect cables to run between my (Wavelength Cosecant) DAC and my (Arcanm) receiver that are a particularly good value for the money? I'd like to spend less than $200 for a 3–6 foot run. Hell, I wish I could get them for free, but … Thanks, Bill PS On a related note, did anyone see this? The Computer Audiophile
Hi Bill - I have heard really good things about Blue Jeans Cable. In fact a few people in the industry swear by them and use BJC as their go-to cable. An awesome value indeed. I did see the coat hanger thing a while ago. Scientific by no means, but I did get a kick out of the whole thing. Founder of Audiophile Style | My Audio Systems Link to comment
cubbie5150
I recently bought some IC's, speaker cable & a power cord from Frank @ Signal Cable---> http://signalcable.com/analog_interconnects.html Build quality is great, and Frank is just a good guy. You can get his Analog Two IC's w/ Eichmann Bullet Plugs for significantly less than your budget. If you're dead-set on spending more, PS Audio makes nice cables too, IMO. Link to comment
cs
Hi Bill, Are you a dab-hand at soldering ? If so, save yourself a lot of money by making up your own cables. I firmly believe that a good quality RF cable is what you need, with low capacitance, PTFE dielectric, and tightly woven braided screen. This will be transparent at audio, but also give excellent RFI immunity. I use such a cable, designated URM-76 (here in the UK), which sells for about £1/m, along with a pair of good quality gold plated phono plugs. Total cost for 2 x 1m lengths is ~ £10 !! Regards, Chris. Link to comment
tfarney
Can you solder an RCA plug? That's not a smarty-pants question, it is very difficult with only two hands. But if you can, or can borrow a second set of hands, try this: http://6moons.com/audioreviews/whitelightning/moonshine.html Yes, it defies all logic, but I have a set of the interconnects and two sets of speaker cables, and they sound good. Tim I confess. I\'m an audiophool. Link to comment
