• Apple Releases OS X 10.5.3 Update

Just a quick note for the Mac users around here. Apple has release a major update to Leopard. The 10.5.3 update could have some real benefits for audiophiles using Mac music servers. Read more for the specific details.

The most exciting update I see listed in the Apple KB article has to be this one:

"Addresses an issue with stuttering video and audio playback in certain USB devices."

Other pertinent updates that may effect Computer Audiophile readers:

    1. Resolves stability issues with Word of the Day, iTunes Artwork, and Slideshow screen savers.

    2. Improves 802.1X behavior and reliability.*

    3. Improves reliability when using Time Capsule.

Hey Tim - I didn't see anything on the GZIP issue either, but that doesn't mean it wasn't fixed. I'm guessing a Safari update will be required. <br />

I'm not willing to say all the USB ports are fair game. I suspect the problem is still there because of everything involved, but I am certainly going to run some tests.
