The Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC Universal Music Controller is positioned to be the digital and analog hub of one's audio system. The CLiC offers seven digital inputs and three analog inputs that remain in the analog domain from input to output. Controlling the CLiC is done via either a traditional physical remote or the new Musical Fidelity iPad / iPhone applications. Like the name Universal Music Controller suggests the CLiC accepts audio from more sources than most listeners will ever have in their houses. However, this Jack of all trades design is very ambitious. During the review period I encountered some features that I consider a work in progress rather than firing on all cylinders. Fortunately for Musical Fidelity and consumers the M1 CLiC offers a built-in upgrade function that adds features and is capable of fine tuning existing features. Overall the M1 CLiC is a good component capable satisfying many computer audiophiles' needs. And, like a fine wine I expect the M1 CLiC to get better with age.
