Unofficial Guide to Setting up a Mac Mini Media Server for Newbies

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
As CA gets a lot of questions from newbies about setting up their first music server, I thought it would be useful to compile a list of answers, which can be found here. (It's a link to Scribd.)

If you're a newbie, please let me know if this is helpful or not so much. If you're an ... uh, oldie ... please feellet me know about any errors or to suggest new answers.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I posted a revised version today. Same link at Scribd.

I think the guide will be really helpful for newcomers, and it's very well done. I also think you skirted most controversial areas skillfully (but you're bound to catch some flack anyway).

How about expanding the section on software tweaks a bit? Maybe a link to wgscott's scripts?

Maybe add some screenshots for the software changes?

There are a few typos. I volunteer to mark up a Word file or PDF or whatever. PM me if you'd like me to do that.

Sorry -- I've never had the opportunity to use a C.A.P.S. server, so I don't know.
